1) Increase the ability of teachers to create learner-centered environments.
2) Increase
the ability of teachers to integrate the use of technology into those environments.
Teachers will
use technology as a tool for learning, rather than as a lesson to be learned.
3) Increase
sharing of ideas among teachers from the same areas of expertise and different
areas of expertise, from
the same campuses and from different campuses in the same district, and
among teachers from different
districts.
4) Create a support base for change.
5) Create a resource base for continuation and training of new teachers in the above mentioned goals.
6) Successfully
deliver meaningful and helpful training via distance.
Ultimately, all of this should then fulfill our greatest goal- improve student achievement across the disciplines, with special emphasis on improving mastery of TEKS. (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills)
